We all know having a baby is a lot of work. From picking out clothes to bathing supplies, strollers to car seats. When does it end? When they turn eighteen? You can only hope. I've had 4 children. You think it would only get easier. But wrong again. Their always coming out with new baby stuff. You know you got to have it. Today I'm going to give you a few ideas for the basic baby stuff. Now lets talk about:
1. SLEEPING SUPPLIES
2 sets of fitted crib or bassinet sheets
7-10 receiving blankets
crib bumper (you might as well just buy the whole comforter set)
2. CHANGING SUPPLIES ( your going to need them)
wipes
Petroleum jelly (I prefer diaper rash ointment)
diaper rash ointment
lotion
cotton swabs
36-60 cloth diapers with eight pins and eight over pants (hope you like to wash)
OR
1-2 packages of newborn disposable diapers (they grow so fast I wouldn't suggest anymore than that.)
3. FEEDING SUPPLIES
7-14 burp cloths
3 nursing bras
6 nursing pads
lanolin ointment
breast pump with storage bottles and bags
OR
two-week supply of newborn formula (make sure you talk with your doctor to see which one is right for your baby.)
6-8 4-ounce bottles and newborn nipples
4. CLOTHING SUPPLIES (I don't like to wash alot so I suggest more clothes even though they grow so fast. It's hard to wash everyday. Especially for working moms.)
7-8 one-piece undershirts
7-8 one-piece shirt/pant suits
7-8 one-piece flame-retardant pajamas
7-8 flame-retardant nightshirts (if you like them or if you have a girl.)
7-8 pairs of socks
no-scratch hand mittens (they like to attack their poor little faces.)
3-4 hats
fleece suit, sweater and coat (depending on the weather.)
5. BATHING AND GROOMING SUPPLIES (we all know that bathtime is the best time of the day.)
small plastic bathtub
3-4 hooded towels
7-8 washcloths
baby bath soap (if they don't have allergies)
baby shampoo (if they have hair)
grooming kit with nail clippers (to cut them sharp fingernails)
nasal bulb (which they will hate. But it will help them breathe better.
If I can think of anything else or if something new comes on the market that I think you just got to have. I let you know.
